Hi, my name is Paul Martinelli; I'm the owner of SRQ Custom Cabinetry, located in Sarasota, FL. I want to share a bit about myself and the future of SRQ Custom Cabinetry. I first started in the custom cabinetry business in 1982, based in New Jersey. I was trained in woodworking in high school and knew what I wanted to do for my career. I spent two years working with one of the most talented and professional custom woodworkers in New Jersey. I was blessed to be recognized for my skills and passion for custom woodworking, and I was offered one of my first jobs, which launched my first company, Archer Custom Cabinetry, in 1984.

I opened my first shop in a small two-car garage, and after a year, I built my first 2,500-square-foot shop behind my home. My wife, Tina, and I have continually discussed the possibility of one day raising our family in Florida, where both of us had always dreamed of living. In 1989, we knew it was time to make our dream a reality, with our first daughter, Marrissa, on the way.

In September of 1990, we moved to Sarasota, FL, and started FineCraft Custom Cabinetry, Inc. I started in a small 2,500-square-foot space and brought my skills and high woodworking standards to an area that was growing quickly and needed skilled custom woodworkers.

FineCraft quickly became recognized for our designs, skills, and hardworking attitude. We focused on only high-end custom homes, and by 1994, we had bought and moved into our 5,000-square-foot building. FineCraft became one of the most sought-after custom cabinetry companies on the West Coast of Florida for the next six years. In 2000, we expanded our 5,000-square-foot space and rented an additional 10,000-square-foot space across the street to better meet our customers' needs.

In 2001, Finecraft purchased another building a couple of blocks away from our current shop and constructed a 5,000-square-foot showroom, complete with a live cooking studio and a commercial kitchen. We had a full-time chef and staff, and we offer cooking classes, wine dinners, and onsite and offsite catering. We were also a Sub-Zero and Wolf dealer as well as a Viking appliance dealer.

In 2010, we downsized to a small shop, specializing in more retail services than builder-based services. In 2015, we sold our showroom and built a new retail location on Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. In 2014, we started selling our first cabinet line. I was looking for a product that closely matched our quality for my customers.

In March 2019, I sold FineCraft to another local cabinetry company, which now uses FineCraft Custom Cabinetry as its brand for marketing purposes. After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, I was ready to embark on a new chapter in my long and successful career. We will only be selling retail and exclusively high-end custom home builders, with whom I have a 32-year reputation in Sarasota for my designs and service. We have a new 1400-square-foot showroom located at 5750 Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL, situated within two miles of Siesta Key.
